To become a notary in Kentucky, you must:

Steps to Become a Notary in Kentucky
To become a notary public in Kentucky, make sure you meet the eligibility
requirements listed above, then complete the following five steps:
Step 1- Submit a Notary Public Application for Appointment

You will be asked to pay the $10 filing fee online. If you would like, you can mail your completed notary application to the secretary of state along with the $10 filing fee.
Step 2- Order a four-year, $1,000 Kentucky notary bond
Upon approval of your notary application, the Kentucky Secretary of State will email your approval letter. Order a notary bond with the exact effective and expiration date printed on the approval letter. Step 3- File the notary bond with the county clerk’s office
Take your notary bond to the county clerk’s office of the county in which you are to be commissioned. The county clerk will file the notary bond, administer the oath of office, and issue you your notary commission certificate.
